Driven by global energy transition and infrastructure expansion, pumps and valves, critical for industrial fluid control, have emerged as a steadily growing export segment within China’s machinery industry.
Throughout 2026, manufacturers across Taizhou and Wenzhou in Zhejiang are operating at full capacity to ship high-quality Zhejiang-made pump and valve products worldwide.Customs data shows Zhejiang’s pump and valve exports reached RMB 21.33 billion in Q1 2026, a year-on-year rise of 3.75%.
Manufacturing in Yuhuan, Taizhou originated in the 1980s and has evolved into a nationally acclaimed manufacturing base for precision valves. The local industrial cluster boasts more than one thousand core manufacturers and upstream & downstream supporting enterprises, well justifying its moniker as China’s “Capital of Valves”.
Inside the assembly workshop of Zhejiang Wandekai Fluid Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., operators from the production and packaging department carry out final quality checks on copper valves destined for export. A total of 2,800 pieces will soon be packed and dispatched to European destinations.
“Nearly all our 520 employees across six workshops are on regular duty with full-capacity daily production to rush outstanding orders for a promising yearly opening,” commented Chen Lihong, Deputy General Manager of the Sales Department. Enthusiastic working atmosphere prevails throughout the busy production floor.
Certified as a Customs AEO enterprise, the company attaches great importance to standardized internal management and international brand credibility. “Since the start of this year, our team has paid field visits to customers in Europe, Australia and the Americas to further explore overseas markets,” Chen explained. The AEO qualification serves as an authoritative business credential; clients from Sweden and the Netherlands have newly nominated the enterprise as their key supplier upon learning about its AEO certification, resulting in five newly added cooperative clients. Backed by stable incoming orders and rising market reputation, the firm remains fully confident in accomplishing its annual sales target.
Wenzhou in Zhejiang also sees booming production. At the workshop of Chaoda Valve Co., Ltd., workers are expediting production of industrial pipeline valves pending sea freight export. Statistics show Wenzhou’s pump and valve import and export volume reached RMB 2.7 billion in Q1 2026, rising 16.23% year on year.
“As an AEO-certified enterprise, we are assigned a dedicated customs liaison officer. After launching processing trade, we cut nearly RMB one million in tax costs for imported high-end valve actuators,” said Yu Dezhu, head of the company’s foreign trade department.
Zhejiang pump and valve manufacturers have enjoyed sustained overseas order growth since early 2026. To cope with robust external demand, Hangzhou Customs has rolled out streamlined administration, regulation and service reforms to smooth export clearance. It regularly releases risk alerts and regulatory updates, guiding enterprises to align full industrial chains from raw material procurement to manufacturing with international norms. For bulk cargo and oversize equipment, appointment-based and on-site inspections are available to guarantee zero-delay customs clearance for high-value, time-sensitive orders. Meanwhile, customs safeguards registered intellectual property rights and cracks down on counterfeit goods to defend the global reputation of Chinese-manufactured products.
Though compact in size, pumps and valves underpin global industrial infrastructure. A senior official from Hangzhou Customs noted that the customs authority will keep optimizing services in three dimensions: expediting clearance efficiency, refining responses to technical trade barriers, and strengthening IP protection for outbound domestic brands. Such multi-pronged measures will continuously fuel the export growth of the local pump and valve sector.
