Wuzhong Instrument’s Pneumatic & Electric Actuators Pass Provincial-Ministerial Appraisal; Danfoss Launches New OFB Ball Valve Series

On January 14, 2026, the Ningxia Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy and Information assembled a panel of authoritative experts to conduct a provincial-ministerial-level technical appraisal on two major independently developed innovative achievements of Wuzhong Instrument Co., Ltd., namely the high-thrust high-precision piston-type pneumatic actuator and high-precision non-intrusive intelligent electric actuator. Following rigorous project presentations, technical document review and in-depth questioning & deliberation, both developments successfully passed the appraisal with outstanding outcomes, marking a significant technological breakthrough for China in the field of high-end actuators.

Core Technology

The High-thrust & High-precision Piston-type Pneumatic Actuator targets core technical bottlenecks concerning sealing, guiding components, springs and cylinder body machining. By innovatively adopting pivotal technologies including auxiliary-lug D-ring configuration and custom cutting tooling for guide strips, the developed product series has been widely deployed in petrochemical, coal chemical and ot1her industries with satisfactory field performance, demonstrating promising prospects for large-scale promotion.

The high-precision non-intrusive intelligent electric actuator addresses prevailing industrial pain points of conventional actuators such as cumbersome phase-sequence commissioning and poor anti-interference performance. Its proprietary circuits and algorithms for automatic power phase-sequence identification as well as non-intrusive operating mechanical structures deliver critical component support for the intelligent upgrading of downstream industries, aligning with national strategies for intelligent manufacturing and the domestic substitution of high-end equipment. Having realized import replacement at multiple gas storage facilities including Huabei Oilfield, the product boasts promising market prospects and remarkable economic and social benefits.

Danfoss A/S Unveils New OFB Ball Valve Series

Recently, Danfoss A/S has launched its all-new OFB series shut-off ball valves, engineered specifically for oil-free chiller and heat pump systems equipped with Turbocor® compressors.

4.jpg

The OFB Series delivers enhanced operational protection for oil-free systems, especially suited for data centers and premium HVAC applications. Optimized to improve reliability on the suction side, the valve features an innovative three-in-one integrated design that, per Danfoss A/S, consolidates suction tapered transition, tight shut-off isolation and fully automated control into a single unit, substantially streamlining system layout and boosting overall performance.

Constructed on a fully modular platform, the new OFB range achieves seamless compatibility with all Danfoss Turbocor® TGx and TTx compressors. Available in 12 inlet flange sizes covering 3-inch, 4-inch and 5-inch options, the valves cater to both new-build projects and retrofitting of existing installations. Compliance with international connection standards including ANSI, ASTM, DIN and EN enables flexible installation across global markets.

Robust mechanical construction allows OFB valves to operate steadily across a wide temperature span from −40°F to +212°F (−40°C to +100°C), securing sustained dependable and efficient system performance under extreme cold and high-temperature operating conditions.
